Firefighter for Truth:
Our Interview with Erik Lawyer
One of the most important new activist leaders in 9/11 truth to emerge this year is a friendly, articulate fire-fighter from Seattle, Mr. Erik Lawyer. We Demand Transparency is proud to present his New York City debut presentation at this year's conference.
Erik gave a great speech in Denver last Spring. Then we went out and had a few beers at the bar. At one point we were joshing around, and with one arm he lifted me up, all 200 lbs. and held me over his head. This guy is formidable. Strong as an ox, and a compelling public speaker. His emails carry these staunch words from Churchill:
"The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is."
Meet Erik Lawyer:
1. You impressed me when you spoke in Denver about the Fire Investigation Manual and the anomalies around the "fire investigation" of 9/11. Which anomaly was first to grab your attention?
The one that stood out the most to me was "18.12.2 - High Explosives." It clearly outlines the effects of diffuse phase (fuel/air, i.e., jet fuel) explosions vs. a solid explosive/high explosive explosion. The damage seen in the lobby of the World Trade Center from the Naudet Brothers documentary is very clearly the result of high explosives.
2. There seems to be a "gag order" in effect here in NYC with the FDNY not being able to comment publicly about 9/11. What is the issue like amongst your firefighter brothers in Seattle?
I don't believe there is an "official" "gag order" in effect in NYC. I have spoken with several FDNY members that were there and have no problem talking about what they saw to me, and have told me in private that there is no "gag order". They just don't want to publicly talk about it because it is an extremely sensitive subject with the firefighters. It's not PC to question the official story, and it's still an incredibly emotional topic for them.
Here in Seattle, there is definitely no "gag order", but it's still a very divisive topic. I think more of us are willing to look at the evidence though because we didn't lose as much, and aren't as emotionally attached to that day.
3. How big is Firefighters for 9/11 Truth? Who can join, and how do they join? What does joining entail?
We now have over 500 people who have signed the petition demanding a new investigation that "follows national standards". We separate the firefighters (now over 70 - currently updating the petition). They join by signing the petition. Our main purpose is to raise awareness, and educate people to what was critically left out of the investigation.
4. What else will people get from your presentation at We Demand Transparency?
They will see how clear the "national standards" are. This was not the first difficult investigation. The standards are there for a reason, and have come from many years of difficult investigations. To not follow them, on the greatest crime on our soil, is criminal.
5. Since we are obsessed with "transparency," tell us one practical thing us the U.S. citizens could demand to insure the U.S. Government becomes more transparent.
Demanding 9-11 accountability is absolutely critical. We cannot walk away from this. I think supporting NYCCAN is the best practical thing to do at this point.
